Review: Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Bija ★★★☆☆

If you read my yesterday's blogpost, you will know that I had some pimples on my face and I was using some masks that would clear my pimples away. So, today, in the quest to find some sheet masks that would work against my acne, I decided to use the bija mask from Innisfree.

As you know, I got the Innisfree sheet masks in the stores during buy 10 get 10 free period. If you buy them retail, you can get them for SGD2 per piece but since they refreshed the entire sheet mask line last year, you can even get them for cheaper price since they will be clearing stock.

According to Innisfree, the mask claims to refresh the skin and clear the skin. The mask is made from the fruits of torreya tree oil that has been highly regarded as a precious ingredient to clear the skin. It also has other ingredients that will keep the skin healthy.

Ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethanol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Betaine, Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Bija Oil(1mg), Sodium Hyaluronate, Tangerine Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, The green Tea Extract, Camellia Leaf Extract, Prickly Pear Extract, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

This mask is good for oily skin type. Since I was having break outs, I had high hopes that this mask will do something for my break outs.

The mask material was quite thick and soft. It was easy to unfold and put onto my face. The sheet mask was soaked in the clear essence like texture that is not too watery nor thick. The scent was nice and herb scent and it is not too aggressive. When application, I had a very cooling sensation that is nice and refreshing for my skin. It was easy to apply to my skin and it doesn't slide off from my skin. Since it was nice and thick, it didn't tear easily as other masks did.

The fit was nice and good. Although the mouth opening was too big for my liking but I don't give much attention to it. The essence was easy to absorb and after application, I had a tiny bit of essence left in the packet which I applied to my neck and arms.

I left it on for 20 minutes as usual. After the 20 minutes mark, I started noticing some areas that are kinda dry so I removed the mask. My skin felt nice and smooth after using this mask. But I was impressed by the rose mask so this mask couldn't stand out from the crowd.

It didn't give me nice and clear skin which it claims to do. It is refreshing and hydrating but I didn't see any difference apart from the hydration. It was a nice mask to use but it didn't do much for me to continue using this particular mask everyday.

Overall, I will give this a 3 stars out of 5. It didn't do much so I was kinda disappointed. It has a nice scent and kinda hydrating but it didn't do much what it claims to do. I shall try out other masks from this range so upcoming reviews will be about Innisfree masks. So, please stay tuned and let me know what sheet masks are your favourites from this range. Review: Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Rose ★★★★☆

Another Innisfree mask for today. If you are tired of me reviewing the Innisfree masks, let me know. I would like your ideas on what kind of blogposts I should write in the future. But for today, I would like to review a mask that stole my heart.

As usual, I got the Innisfree masks from the Innisfree stores throughout the island and I got them when they had the buy 10 get 10 free sale. If you find the sheet masks, they are usually at SGD2 per piece but since they are being discontinued and Innisfree refreshed the line, you will find them cheaper the SGD2 per piece as they are clearing the stocks.

I had no expectation for this mask since the masks that I tried recently doesn't do much for my face.

According to Innisfree, this mask is claimed to get your skin supple and radiant with the rose while providing the moisture to the skin to make it supple and smooth. It also has other ingredients to keep the skin healthy. The mask also has the triple-layer sheet which has a long lasting moisturising effect so that the essence can gradually absorb into the skin.

Ingredients - Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethanol, Betaine, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Rosa Centifolia Juice (200mg), Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tangerine Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, The green Tea Extract, Camellia Leaf Extract, Prickly Pear Extract, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

When I first opened the sheet mask, I smelled the rose scent but not too overpowering. So, it has a scent but it's not that noticeable. The mask material is very thin and soft and it is very easy to spread to the skin. Just that it is easy to tear so I had to be careful while applying on the skin.

When I applied it on my skin, I felt the cooling sensation and my skin felt very calming throughout the masking time. It is also very stable on my skin meaning that it won't slide off from my face. The mask itself is soaked in the essence and when taking out, it is a bit drippy so if you are applying the mask on the plane or somewhere else, just make sure not to drip to your clothes.

The fit is very nice. The cut in the mouth area is not too big so I can actually mask the skin around the mouth. I also love the way it fits my whole face. Since I have a bit of big face, some masks does not fit me properly so I appreciate when the masks fit to my face properly.

There is 20 ml of essence in the packet and the mask is soaked in the essence very nicely. When applying the mask, there are some leftover in the packet so I use it to apply to my neck and arms. The essence is a clear watery type and easy to absorb.

I put the mask for 20 minutes as usual. After 20 minutes, I felt like the mask can still go more time since it is not drying at all. I was impressed. I continued masking for 10 more minutes and only that time, I can start seeing some reduction in moisture levels in the forehead region.

My skin drinks up the essence like it is drinking water and my skin felt very soft and smooth after the mask. It feels very hydrated and supple. The next morning, I saw some glow on my skin and I was really impressed.

So, overall, I give this 4 stars out of 5. I would like to give 5 stars but since it is discontinued so I know I cannot find it anymore. I would love to try the newer version and see whether the new version is on par with the old version. I am so excited to try soon.

Review: Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Tea Tree ★★★☆☆

Well, time to start using the Innisfree masks before they expire. Although they would expire next year, I still have other masks that I need to use so I am going to see which ones I like the most and use them up one every day. So, this review is going to be more of my diary of sheet masks that I used and which ones I like the most.

Today's choice is tea tree. I got some duplicates in some of the masks and I would be using them up as well. I got the masks from Innisfree stores during the sale of buy 10 get 10 free around 2 years ago. I am finally going to use them up and move on to my other sheet masks that I have.

Since I don't have severe acne anymore and I bought a lot of tea tree masks during that time, I am going to use and see how it will react to my acne or clear skin. The reason why I chose the tea tree one on this particular day was when I got 2 small acnes on my skin from stress. I wanted to see how it will do my acne.

According to Innisfree, it claims to clear the skin while keeps the skin healthy.

Ingredients - Water, Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Ethanol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Betaine, Tea Tree Leaf Juice(200mg), Xanthan Gum, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Hyaluronate, Tangerine Peel Extract, Orchid Extract, The green Tea Extract, Camellia Leaf Extract, Prickly Pear Extract, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance

Tea Tree Extract – extremely well known to fight acne and acne-related problems, blemishes, and also possesses anti-fungal properties.

Grapefruit Extract – has natural anti-microbials and anti-oxidants.

Tangerine Peel Extract – beneficial for oily skin as it controls excessive oil secretion and treats acne and scars.

Green Tea Extract – excellent for troubled skin; has anti-bacterial, anti-inflammatory properties and is a natural source of anti-oxidants; helps reduce pores and clean the skin from deep within.

Camellia Leaf Extract – well-known for its skin soothing, anti-ageing properties; also contains fatty acids.

Prickly Pear Extract – encourages skin renewal, stimulates collagen production, restores elasticity and is known for its quick absorbing and skin nourishing properties.

Aloe Vera extracts, Castor oil and Glycerin are all extremely popular for their hydrating and moisturizing properties for the skin.

The mask material was thicker than the cucumber one and was soaked in the essence. The fit of the mask was way nicer with small holes for mouth which is always a good thing for me. I love how the mask covers my chin properly. There is very feint tea tree scent coming from the mask when applied it on my face.

When I first applied it on my face, I felt the cooling sensation and calming on my face. It was nice and cooling and your skin will feel very relaxed while applied on the face. There is around 20ml of essence in the mask and most of them are soaked inside the sheet mask. The essence is a very clear watery consistency and there are some leftover inside the package.

I left the mask for 20 minutes as usual and after 20 minutes, I removed the mask. When I removed the mask, I can still feel some areas of the mask left very soaked in the essence but areas like my T-zone area and my forehead area, the mask is quite dry.

I used the mask to see whether it will work against my acne since tea tree is an ingredient very good for acne. After using this mask, my acne was the same although my skin felt very moisturised. I didn't have the clear skin as this mask claimed to do also so I was a bit disappointed.

Overall, I will give this mask a 3 stars out of 5 since it didn't perform as it claimed to be. It is a nice mask to calm the skin down from acne but it won't help with the acne for me. If it worked for you, I would like to know in the comments below. Please let me know your experience.

Review: Shiseido Revital Lifting Mask Science EX ★★☆☆☆

I was gifted this mask around 2 years ago and I hoarded till recently. I finally decided to use it after looking at the expiry date and since it was near and I needed some anti-aging stuff to my skin. Hoping it would work wonders to my skin as it was more towards lifting mask and has amazing anti-aging properties.

After a long day of stressful stuff, masking is always a pleasure and relaxing time for me to do what I love, writing one or two blogposts while I have the time and relax and unwind from my stressful day. As I mentioned, I had high hopes for it. I had a nice routine going on after shower. And right almost at using this mask came the frustration.

The mask was divided into two compartments for the top half of my face and the bottom half of my face. The thing that frustrates me was how difficult for me to get out from the packet and unfold and apply on the face. The top half was a bit better than the bottom half. When I reached the bottom half, it was a nightmare. It was too big for my face and I don't know how to put them properly. The mask material was thick and was soaked in the essence quite well, which I really liked, but unfolding the mask was a nightmare for me.

There was no noticeable scent from the mask and there were no leftover residue in the packets. After trying really hard to put the mask on my face, this is what I looked like. A bit ridiculous but well, it was on my face. I left it for 20 minutes as usual and around 10 minutes mark, some areas of the mask already started drying out. But wanting to know how the results will look like so I left it for the full 20 minutes.

Then, after I removed the mask, I felt nothing particular of all sorts. I didn't see any lifting of my face, I did felt a bit of moisturising but as the mask was drying out, I believed it sucked my moisture back from my skin so I felt a bit of dehydrated skin right after putting on the mask. As I was gifted, I do not know the price of this mask nor whether it is still available in the market.

Overall, I do not like this mask. I will give a 2 stars out of 5 stars. I believe that this mask will be expensive and yet it didn't do anything for my skin. Even my Innisfree or other cheaper masks would do better for my skin.

Review: Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Black Berry ★★★★☆

Happy Monday! I wish you are having a great time with your loved ones. Today, I want to review another mask that I used recently. It's from Innisfree and it's in the black berry mask. I have been using a lot of Innisfree sheet masks lately, mostly because I want to use up my mask collection and these masks are near to the expiry date already. Another reason is that I want to use and see which are the ones that I really like and which are the ones that didn't work for me. So far, I don't have the ones that didn't work for me just yet. The masks are great for different skin concern. So, it's best to try them out and see which ones do work for you. Moreover, they costs very little so it's nice to stock them up when you see sale from the brand. That's how I buy the masks. I got these masks in the sale for buy 10 get 10 free and the retail price is SGD2 per sheet mask.

According to Innisfree, this mask claims to be firming and have elastic skin. They also protect the skin to make it more healthy. The Jeju green complex consists of green tea, tangerine, cactus, camellia leaves and orchids to keep the skin healthy. The mask also has a 3-layered sheet which has a long lasting moisturising effect for the essence to be absorbed into the skin.

I definitely felt the sheet mask to be much thicker than some of the masks that I have tried. The essence was a bit thicker milky consistency than other sheet masks and they have 20 ml of essence inside. Sine the sheet mask is thicker, it doesn't tear while applying to the face. The fit was okay as the cuts for the mouth is smaller (yay!!) I was also happy with the thicker mask material having so much essence absorbed to the sheet mask.

I applied for 20 minutes and I could still feel the essence on the sheet mask. It didn't dry out and I could have kept it longer as the sheet mask still got enough moisture. After applying it, I felt a bit sticky which I didn't like. But it gave me a decent glow although there was no evening of the skin tone after using the mask.

I will give this a 4 stars out of 5. I love the way it makes my skin glow and I love the way it moisturised my skin. Although I don't like being sticky for a few hours, I love the way it glowed even after I wake up the next morning. Overall, satisfied with the product.

Review: Ettusais Puru Puru Mist ★★★★☆

I got this 2 years ago in Sephora where they carried this brand in Singapore. Now, I cannot find this brand here in Sephora Singapore anymore so I was really sad about it. To be honest, I still do not know how face mists do to my skin but I love the way they are easily accessible and can be used whenever we want. I also love the packaging of this bottle so it was a bonus.

When I got it, it was mainly because of Sekine Risa-san on YouTube. I saw she was using this product just after the bath and before putting on the skincare. It acts as a pre-skincare skincare for her. It was mainly for the skin to not dry out before putting on the skincare while drying the body. It was fragrance free and colorant free.

I spent around SGD25 for an 80ml mist bottle and on and off I used it for 2 years hahaha. I forgot to use this mist for quite some time and every time I used it, it was nicely moisturising my skin with a few mists. The mist itself is very fine and easy to spread around. I usually spritz around 3 to 5 pumps and I message into my skin. Then I dry my body and apply my usual skincare.

I was really sad that Sephora Singapore don't carry Ettusais anymore. Another sad thing is that Ettusais discontinued this product. I was really intrigued by the product on how hydrating this product for the skin is and how interesting just to mist and go when you feel dehydrated.

I give this product a 4 stars out of 5. I was impressed by the easiness of the product. Sad that I cannot buy this again anymore.

Review: The Face Shop Real Nature Aloe Mask ★★★☆☆

If you have read my previous blog post about the Face Shop Real Nature mask in lemon, you'll know that I had high hopes for it. I also have high hopes for this aloe mask that I am holding in my hands. I heard lots of great things about the face shop sheet masks from many different people so I had high hopes for it.

I did the usual routine, cleanse my skin and tone and applied serum then I use the mask. Right after I applied the mask, I felt the tingling sensation and my skin felt cooling sensation as well. I also felt a bit of minty sensation thinking whether this mask got any mint.

The sheet was a bit thinner than the lemon one and this has a lot of essence soaked into the mask. The fit was as you can see, a bit okay but I don't mind seeing a bit of smaller cuts around the mouth area. It was easy to tear while applying the mask so you cannot use brute force like I do (haha)

The essence was a lot more than the lemon mask and there were some leftovers inside the mask. As usual, I applied them on my neck and my arms for extra hydration. There is very feint scent. I left the mask for 20 minutes and removed it. As I was removing, I still feel the menthol effect and my skin was really refreshed. I didn't see any improvement for skin tone evening but I could feel the hydration in my skin. The sheet mask somewhat dry in some areas but some not so much after 20 minutes.

Overall thoughts, it was okay. I felt some refreshing and hydrating features but there were no skin tone evening nor brightening effects. I like it more the lemon one so I will give this mask a 3 stars out of 5. I am still trying to look for better masks from the Face Shop line so if you have tried it before, let me know which mask from the brand in the future.

Review: Innisfree It's Real Squeeze Mask in Strawberry ★★★☆☆

I got the full range of Innisfree It's Real Squeeze masks a while back and I wanted to use them up before they expire. So, I want to start with the strawberry mask. I got this from the Innisfree store a while back and they cost me SGD2 per mask. The time I purchased it was when they had the promotion for buy 10, get 10 free so I got 20 masks for SGD20 (what a score!!)

I was really looking forward to use these masks but I could never find time properly so I decided to start using the masks that I got before I get more of them. Surprisingly, they are not easy to get because Innisfree refurbished the entire mask range in 2017. I still believe they still have strawberry in their new range but I'm not really sure.

The mask material is a little bit different with this mask and it was a bit thinner than some of the masks that I have tried. They really fit to my face very well and I can do things without the mask slipping off my face. I usually do my studies or write blogposts while I wear a mask so they are really good to use them.

Scent wise, they didn't have the strawberry scent. I kinda wished for the scent to have the strawberry scent but nope! they didn't have strawberry scent. But they have very faint essence scent that doesn't bother me at all while using the mask.

The essence was a clear essence. The mask is soaked in a lot of essence so when applying it, it's better to apply at the sink just in case it drips. I usually leave the mask for 20 minutes.

After everything that I really liked so far from this mask and expecting a bit more from this mask, the mask dried out very quickly while there was no leftover in the sachet to apply more to the mask. Around the 15 minutes mark, my nose area is already dried up.

After removing the mask, I didn't feel any difference in the skin. Though my skin was a bit soft, I didn't get much hydration that I get from other masks and there were no even skin tone that other masks had provided.

I was a bit disappointed. I was hoping to see a difference from this mask. So, I don't really recommend this strawberry mask. I give this mask a 3 out of 5 stars. It was a meh product.

Thinking where it all went wrong

Things are different now..... we don't talk as much as we used to and I kinda don't fit in in the group anymore. Where did it went wrong? Was it because of me? Or you guys just come to hate me. When everyone meets, I'm the only one who is not in the group anymore.

Well, I should have realised since long ago and I always tend to think positive and hope that they might be different.

Every since young, I didn't have the luck with friends.

I tasted a taste of betrayal from a dear friend in my 3rd grade. She betrayed me and accused me of stealing her stuff and made me embarrassed in front of the teachers and the class mates. I was so humiliated.

Fast forward to university where I tasted multiple back stabbers and relationships that went from close to very distance. There were no fights or betrayals. It was just become so distance that I was totally invisible from them.

It was really painful. From then, I was be careful with the people that I friends with and was afraid of being invisible in front of people.

I was used to loneliness. I grew up not having my parents' love so I was used to not having it. I managed my life and improved where I was lacking and try to cope with what I have and what I can. Education is always my first priority and that's what I am currently living abroad to do.

But I still hope. I always admired my mother's friends where they are so close and yet they don't even meet each other or talk to each other once a few years. I really admire having that kind of people in my life even at least one person.

But I am not my mother. I get it. I don't know how to make friends and I am not particularly good at mingling with people and make them like me. But if I decided that you are my friend, I give my best and I go some certain lengths to make the people I love happy.

I was really happy when I became friends with them. I thought that maybe this is the first step to having life long friends. I just don't know where it all went wrong.

I should be used to loneliness. I should be used to staying by myself. Most people say that I'm strong, I can handle this and that. Keeping my heart strong comes with a lot of responsibility and suffering. Right now, I just felt like I am nothing to other people and my efforts were useless.

The suffering becomes stronger everyday. I wonder if there is a reset button or I should be facing the reality and move on. Well, so far as much as I know, I am back to square one and all alone. But I still hope......

The AM Routine: February 2018

I wanted to share something new that I have never really done on my Instagram before. I also wanted to share it with you guys here on this blog. Today, I want to share my AM skincare routine for February. Though I don't use the exact products every day, this is pretty much what I used during the month of February.

So, let's see what is on my face.....

I usually use the COSRX low PH good morning gel cleanser to wash my face. When I first tried it out, I didn't really like it but now I'm growing to like it more and more. I will do a review soon on this blog.

Then, this is the newest addition to my collection. I really like the Innisfree Persimmon Pore Toner but it ran out so I decided to give The Body Shop a go! This is my very first Body Shop skincare product and so far so good. I love how refreshing I feel when I use this toner and it always find some sort of gunk from my pores so good job toner! I use the Body Shop Seaweed Oil-Balancing Toner since I got a combination skin and I tend to have quite a bit oily T-Zone.

Then, I use the Ettusais Puru Puru Mist whenever I feel like I need more hydration. Sometimes, I went out and do something after the toner so my skin feels quite dry so this mist always come for help. Although I finished using this product, I will be replacing it with another hydrating mist.

Afterwards, I like to use the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Boosting Ampoule. I decided to try this one out as my seawater cream was not working so well for me last time and I do really enjoy using it. Although I also finished using this product, I will be finding another good one to replace this product.

Usually, after this step, I tend to put on a sheet mask but that is only when I got a lot of time or when my skin is a desert. I like putting on different sheet masks whenever I have the time in the morning since I love how they hydrate my skin.

Last but not least, I apply this moisturiser. I use the Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Cream. When I first started using it, I use in conjunction with the COSRX cleanser and I didn't like both of them as I don't feel good in my skin. But after adding more layers and using sheet masks to balance my hydration, I came to like this cream. It gave me quite a nice layer of moisture without being too greasy on my skin. If you have dry skin type, I don't recommend you this cream.

So, I hope you enjoyed my AM routine. I want to post more of the skincare stuff that I use daily so make sure to follow me on Instagram at @thefacemaskjunkie for more of the face masks that I use before I review them here and @sheisreyar for more life updates.

Review: Watsons Tencel Doube HA Mask ★★★★☆

When I saw a sale of the Watsons Tencel Masks on Watsons, I was so excited. They were always so expensive when you buy them one by one but in a box during the sale, it's so worth it. I believe they were going to revamped the masks so Watsons was clearing their stock. I saw on the Watsons App that the masks will be on sale from SGD14.90 to SGD5, I freaked out! I already got the brown rice version and the red wine version when they were on sale for buy 1 get 1 during a few months back but they would be on sale for SGD5 EACH?! I'M TOO HAPPY!!!!!

When I'm writing this blog post on 7th March, the sale is still going on so, please do check it out and get them during the sale!! I will link them here. It is not an affiliate link so it doesn't affect my review afterwards! I believe they have 5 types in Singapore but if you are elsewhere, there will be different types available as well. But for now, I'm going to link you guys the ones that is available in Singapore. There are Watsons Natto Soothing Facial Mask , Watsons Black Pearl Smoothing Facial Mask, Watsons Brown Rice Brightening Facial Mask, Watsons Red Wine Antioxidant Facial Mask and Watsons Double HA Intense Moisturising Facial Mask.

I decided to get another set of these 5 different masks and I got 2 of the Double HA ones since they were really popular online and I heard a lot of good things about it. So, today, I want to share my thoughts on this mask after I have used it.

My face 30 minutes after removing the mask

I found it quite interesting. I really like the mask material. They were tencel and according to the packet, tencel masks contain more moisture and won't dry out as fast as cotton masks. The tencel has high dense fine fibres that will retain more essence and will penetrate deeper into the skin. I really find a difference in the materials and I enjoy using them. Essence wise, they have 21ml of essence so it is not as much as the Watsons fruity facial masks (Mixed berry review here) but I find it enough for the face. Because of the mask material, I find the essence absorbs into the skin very well and I really enjoyed using it.

The fit of the mask is quite nice also. Although I wish they made the nose part a little bit bigger but other than that, there are no complaints. There is no tearing of the material also. The mask is soft and gentle on the skin with dripping wet with essence so I recommend you to be careful during application.

I put the mask on 20 minutes and even after 20 minutes had passed, there was no signs of drying of the mask. I was really impressed. After I removed the mask, I saw a decent change in my skin. I saw my skin was plump and soft and felt very moisturised while the complexion evened out for a bit. I also saw a nice radiance after removing the mask so I really enjoyed using it.

So, I will give this mask a 4 stars out of 5. They were really nice and inexpensive but if I were to buy it full price, I will be a bit reluctant. But since I got them on sale, so I can really abuse these masks everyday if I want. I will be trying out more masks so stay tuned!

Review: Watsons Facial Mask with Mixed Berry Extract ★★★☆☆

Oh Watsons, they are really good at making a lot of sheet masks and come out with different types to try out. And since they are drugstore, they tend to go on sale quite often too. If you have seen my Watsons Haul, you will know that I got this mask during sale for SGD3 at Watsons. What a deal! Usually, they are SGD9.90 per packet of 5.

I love the way the packaging looks like. They are so chic and yummy looking for me to devour them. I was travelling in Myanmar when I decided to use this so I will be sharing my thoughts on this mask. As I mentioned earlier, I love the way the sheet mask is packaged and I also like the way it is priced at. Though it is about the same price as most masks, the quality you get is quite nice,

The mask comes in this packet and inside there is another layer of plastic sheet beside the sheet mask in order to contain the essence. The sheet mask is a medium thickness cottony type material. It claims to "actively combats free radicals to facilitate skin rejuvenation and help rejuvenate and moisturise the skin." The mask is soaked in 30ml of essence and it is dripping wet when you take out the mask. There is a refreshing scent from the mask and I really enjoyed the scent during masking.

The fit of the mask is quite good. It fits quite nicely for my face. I left it for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, the mask is somewhat dry in some areas. Some parts the mask has come off from the face and I didn't really enjoyed that. I pat the remaining essence to my face, neck and my arms for extra hydration.

So, I will rate this mask a 3 out of 5 stars. It was nice but it didn't have enough moisturising effect and I didn't really see a difference. Though for the sale price, it was really good to try but if I were to buy paying full price I rather take something that is more effective. It was a meh product for me. I won't be repurchasing this mask again.

Review: Pure Smile Snail Essence Mask ★★★☆☆

Today, let's talk about a brand I fell in love with during my trips to Japan, Pure Smile. I love the way they have so many variety to try. I love to try them a lot so when I went to Japan a few months ago, I decided to find them and buy them one of each variety to try them. If you are in Singapore, you can get them in Tokyu Hands for SGD2 a piece. I got them for around 90-100 yen in Japan.

This is the mask I bought during my graduation trip to Japan at the end of 2016 and I forgot to try them. So, before they expire, I decided to try them out. Though they expire in 2020 so I can still leave them if I want to haha...

The fit was so so and they have a very weird cut out on the nose so I was a bit confused hahaha. It is for all skin types and there are Vitamin E, collagen, Arbutin and Hyaluronic Acid in the mask for keeping my skin hydrated and moisturised.

I left the mask on for 20 minutes. During that 20 minutes, I felt my skin moisturised especially underneath the eyes and my jaw line. When I felt the mask, it was drying out so after that 20 minutes, I removed the mask and applied the left over to my arms and my neck. Though it was an okay mask, it wasn't amazing like my Innisfree masks and other masks that I have tried before. But from the price point, if you buy from Japan, it is really worth it but if you are buying from Tokyu Hands in Singapore, I recommend you to get the Innisfree masks since they are both the same price but the Innisfree ones work so much better.

Well, this recommendation is only based on this mask. I will be trying out more masks from Pure Smile since I got a lot of them in Japan.

So, I will rate this mask a 3 out of 5 stars. As I mentioned, it was an okay mask, moisturising to the skin but doesn't do anything else. It was a meh product for me and I won't be repurchasing it.

Review: The Face Shop Real Nature Lemon Citron Mask ★★☆☆☆

Today I’m finally using the Face Shop’s Real Nature Lemon citron mask. I got this when it was on sale during September last year and I hauled it on this blog. I'll link it right here! I was really excited to use The Face Shop masks since I heard good reviews about them. Maybe that's why I was kinda expecting a bit more for this mask.

So, let's review this mask!
It claims to be " illuminates your skin and gives you a flawless complexion! Enriched with lemon extract with brightening properties, it will even out your complexion in an instant!" - The Face Shop Website

Ingredients - Water/Eau, Glycerin, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Fruit Extract, ButyleneGlycol, Alcohol Denat., Betaine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Xanthan Gum, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Dimethicone, Phaseolus Radiatus Extract, Betula Platyphylla Japonica Bark Extract, Rumex Crispus Root Extract, Carbomer, Peg-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Parfum/Fragrance

I really like the mask material since it has a thin sheet mask that is soaked in essence. I was quite shocked on how well it was soaked in the essence and the mask itself didn't tear apart while putting it on my face. Some of the mask tend to tear apart while applying it so I gave this a passing grade for the material.

Fit wise, it fits nicely on my jaw line and forehead. Though the holes for the eyes are quite small. I kinda wished that they have a bit bigger holes for my eyes and they should cover up some of my chin. The cut out for my nose is perfect on my big nose and the area for my upper lips is also covered nicely.

Essence itself wise, after applying for 15 minutes as recommended, the sheet mask dried up a lot. I kinda hoped that they don't dry up as fast because I wanted to put on my sheet mask for a bit longer. I felt that it’s not giving me moisture to the skin anymore at that point. The scent was a bit lemony and it didn't linger throughout the application. I enjoyed the scent though.

Price - S$2 in the Face Shop counters.

Rating - I give this 2 out of 5 stars.

Overall effect -  It gives an okay hydration and moisture to the skin but it dries up pretty quickly so, it’s not giving me enough. I didn’t see an immediate brighten to the skin after using and I don’t see the glow after using. The Essence was absorbed to the skin very quickly but I still feel a bit of dryness and tightness. Overall, I find other brands’ masks are better than this particular one. Hopefully, the other masks from this range will be good for me. That’s why I won’t be repurchasing this mask from now on. Hopefully, other masks from this range will do me good.
Today I’m finally using the Face Shop’s Real Nature Lemon citron mask. I got asked how I manage to mask during my travels by @beautyrnrmag, it’s because my skin acts up when I don’t mask. It became very dull and very dry in my dry areas while very oily in my T-zone very quickly and to some extreme. I also really enjoy masking while reading some books or manga! It’s like a-me-time for me. That’s my motivation for masking while travels. Aside my answers, let’s review this mask. 🤔 Mask material - it has a thin cottony sheet mask that is soaked in sssence 🤔 Fit - it fits nicely on my jaw line and forehead. Though the holes for the eyes are quite small. 🤔 After applying for 15 minutes as recommended, the sheet mask dried up a lot. What masks I bring to my one week trip to Japan?

If you have been following me on my Instagram or my blog, you will know that I have really been enjoying facial masks at the end of the day to give my skin a bit of boost to make it radiant and glowy. It doesn't stop me while travelling to other countries. I travelled to Japan and to Myanmar in January so I brought these masks to travel. I want to share with you what kind of masks I brought with me to my travels.

Although I only bring a handful of masks to my travel, I am not really strict with myself to put on masks every single day during my travels. When I went back to Myanmar, I did not even put everyday. I sometimes apply my sheet masks when I saw my skin needs some hydration or something that is nice for my skin.

I love sheet masks. They are inexpensive and you can always get them during sales and apply them whenever you want. You just need to wash your face before hand to put on them. I love sheet masks that are brightening, firming and hydrating to my skin so I tend to buy stuff that are suitable for my skin.

The masks that I brought with me to my travels are -
- Innisfree it's a real squeeze mask in Strawberry
- Innisfree it's a real squeeze mask in Cucumber (Review here!)
- Innisfree it's a real squeeze mask in Aloe
- Etude House 0.2mm Face mask in Snail
- Watsons Fruity Facial Mask in Camu Camu Fruit Extract
- Watsons Fruity Facial Mask in Mixed Berry Extract
- Watsons Fruity Facial Mask in Witch Hazel & Lemon Water

I love applying sheet masks before I go to bed so I highly recommend you guys to try it every 3 days or so if you don't want to put on sheet masks everyday. I recommend you to hunt for sales and buy them in bulk if you can to save cash!

Review: Innisfree - My Innisfree Rewards Green Tea Set ★★★★☆

During my travels to my home country, Myanmar, I didn't really follow my normal skincare routine and my skin felt so tight and clogged up. So, the previous day, I decided to give the Sukin Clay Masque a try and I felt a bit better. I went to bed and the next day, my skin was really tight so I decided to give this mask a go! I got this as the Innisfree Rewards when applying the application for their membership and they gave me this packet along with a few of other samples. I have been hoarding this to use it up and I thought now was the good time to use up this product when I really needed it.

The mask come in this envelope

It has some samples of the Innisfree Green Tea Seed Serum, Green Tea Seed Eye Cream and the Green Tea Seed Cream along with the green tea sheet mask. Since I really needed all of them, I used up everything in one shot!

After washing my face clean, I started with the seed serum all over my face to prime the skin. Though it was barely enough for my skin, but I wished they put a bit more of the serum to make sure I get enough hydration for my face.

Then, I put the eye cream underneath my eyes. Surprisingly, they put quite a lot of eye cream in the packet and there was still left over even I put excessive layer of eye cream underneath my eyes. Since there was left over, I used it up to my face.

Then, I used the sheet mask. I was really surprised by how soaked the sheet mask is inside. The sheet mask material is very thin cottony type material and it was soaked wet with essence. There was 20ml of essence in the mask so almost as much as one bottle of the essence inside. There were left over inside the packet, even after I started applying the sheet mask. The fit was nice and they cut quite a comfortable holes for my eyes and my mouth. Though I wish they could put a bit bigger cut for my nose since the mask is too small for my nose. Though it was my own fault for having a very big nose haha.

I really felt my skin hydrating. Maybe because my skin was really dehydrated throughout the time but I love the way it made my skin with the hydration and the cooling sensation.  I left it on for 25 minutes and I saw that the mask is not drying out at all. I could have put on much longer but I got some stuff to do so I removed the mask.
Right after I removed the mask
So, the photo above is the picture of me right after I removed the mask. I squeeze the essence out of the mask and applied it a bit more to my face and the remaining to my neck and arms. There were a lot of essence left inside the mask even after 25 minutes on my face. I was really impressed!

Then, I was planning to apply the cream but since it was already very dewy, I decided to try at another time.
A few hours after I applied the mask!
So, this is my skin after a few hours since the mask. As you can see, my skin felt very dewy and the hydration lasted a long time.

Then at night, I decided to use the seed cream. It was a thick consistency for texture and I also felt a bit of hydration to my skin. Though my skin was pretty hydrated with the mask earlier, I loved the scent of the cream. Wished they give a little more for me to apply on the neck as well. But all in all, it was a nice cream. Nothing spectacular though.

So, overall, I will give this set a 4 stars out of 5.

I was really into face masking these days and my collection of face masks are increasing dramatically. Aside from that, I want to try some masks that are really affordable to give my skin a TLC when it is very dull or when I have some issues with my skin. Although I am not a "pro" at reviewing stuff, I just share with you guys what I saw with my skin and what I think about a particular mask. So, that's why I want to continue doing my mask journey with you all.

So, this time round, I want to share with you guys what masks I bought from Watsons a while back while I was still studying MBA. I haven't used all these masks so far because I am really trying my best to go through some of my old masks and these get cornered.
